Photographer's Note
Not to far from the Eiffel tower, just at the other end of the park lies the school building Ecole Militaire. Here it forms a background for the transparent part of the peace monument I showed you before. The text on the glass is the word, or signs, for peace written in many languages.
According to my guide book the Ecole Militaire was built in the 1750΄s on request of madame Pompadour. Its policy was to educate young boys who had good chances of becoming officers. One well known name among its students are Napoleon.
I pressed my minitripod against the wall of the monument and took this picture. The text is my main motive and I like to have the Ecole a bit out of the DOF. In the middle is a curved golden vertical, what can it be? And to prove the location even more the Tricolor is on its pole.
Edit: I forgot to say that this is the backside of the glass and the text is backwards, "Vagabond" corrected this in his WS. But I remember that there was a wind from the south that day... ;o)

Yes yes we see La Tour Eiffel :). Very well seen, the peace that prevails - a good message to deliver!
Btw, the Ecole is perfectly in focus - the price of being digital... However, the picture is great as it is, I don't think I would want to change something.

Dear Ebbe, I like the idea behind it, as explained very well in the info, but I have to admit that the picture doesn't work for me. Too many things in there. I believe it is very hard to get the picture technically correct, but for me it just doesn't work. But that is just me. Hope you don't mind. Yours, Jan

I like this one - or rather I like Vagabond's workshop - despite the many elements. That only goes to show, there are no strict laws to what pleases the eye and not. The only thing that bothers me is that curved golden vertical. What is it? I hope you know... ;o)
Allowed one wish, I'd like to have the reflection of the tower on the opposite side of the dome on Ecole Militaire. Would that have been possible?

Unusual, and very good. Maybe the reflection(s) could have been more separated, but I like it.
