TE 912
THE PORTAL OF LIGHT AND LIGHTING
It's been some time since I posted a photo on TE. Other hobbies such as painting, reading, walking and cycling left me too little time for TE.
But today it's time for a new TE post.
I shall continue our visit to Strasbourg.
During our visit, the city was dominated by the cultural project "LE PORTAIL DE LA LUMIΘRE ET DE L'ΙCLAIRAGE".
"The Wonderful Journey is an invitation to reflect on how we want to rethink our environment.
It invites to rejoicing, to the (re)discovery of the other and also to the imagination. "Invitation to the imagination" is the common thread of the summer program developed by the city of Strasbourg and aims to free and deconfine the imagination.”
My previous post showed the colourful installation “La prairie de Dichroοque” on the place du Chateau in front of Strasbourg Cathedral. On this square there was also a cubus-like building with further information about the different parts of this cultural event. Part of this cubus was covered with reflective material that created a fantastic opportunity to make surrealistic photo’s.

Hi Rob,you are finally back, I really missed your unique and original photos. And it is a return with a bang, all three really fantastic, always played in a masterly way with cuts, reflections and distortions but with completely different subjects .. what to say .. I hope not to have to wait another months to see your next post! Have a nice weekend and thanks,Luciano

Goedemiddag Rob,
Goed foto werk, bedankt.
Groeten uit Vlaanderen en prettig weekend,
John

Hello Rob,
It's nice to see you back, and thank you for your comments earlier today. I remember having a lot of fun with a similar glass covered cubicle outside the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam, and this one was like made especially for you. We can see from the three photos how many amusing opportunities it offered. You used the most sophisticated effects for the main photo, where it is actually not so easy to see where the glass ends and the "real" wall starts. The funniest effects are no doubt in the third photo, but I like them all. Unfortunately we don't see so many such smart photos on TE these days, so I hope you will remain here for a while.
Kind regards,
Gert

Hi Rob,
The project is impressive. The point of view is showing the details of the building and pf the reflections. The light is giving nice tints to the colors of the picture. Have a nice day.

Hello Rob,
This is great! It reminds me of when the Sky Mirror was placed in Rockefeller Center. There are so many great reflections to capture, and in this main photo you created a truly fabulous composition. The cathedral itself is beautiful, and the real building pairs perfectly with the reflected one. I like the activity in the square, too. Take care!

Hello Rob, good to see you posting.
Three excellent shots; a very good choice for the main one, as we have to study it carefully to decide where the 'real' ends and the 'reflected' begins.
I am fascinated by the material that the mirror is made from, as we see some distortion in the w/s pictures.
The people animate the scenes very nicely.
Thanks for sharing.
Kind regards, Jean.

Hallo Rob,
Deze spiegelende wand zorgde voor een mooi combinatie van de echte kathedraal en de spiegeling. De lichte vervorming worden er alleen nog maar specialer van. De mensen zorgen daarbij voor een aangename sfeer.

Hi Rob
Good to see you popping into TE again.
This is a great one of one of my favourite cathedrals. At first I though you'd been combining photos. The initial confusion is due to the excellent sharpness in the reflection.
cheers

Hi Rob,
Light on the real view and the mirror reflection match so perfectly that the dividing line would be difficult to recognize, unless it cut that tower diagonally. It is interesting to notice warp on the mirror surface, making double reflections of those people.

Hallo Rob,
Uitstekend uitgevoerd!
Vele groeten, Paul

Hello Rob,
Great to see you back. An unusual shot with the reflections seemingly cut in half but actually just blocking the view of the bg tower. Tfs!
