Photographer's Note

A lot of people on the path to Puy de Sancy, like a motorway on rush hour ! Puy de Sancy is a former vulcano extincted today. It is 1,886 metres and is the highest point in Auvergne mountains. The quite easy access to the summit and the great point of view (I read you can see the Mont Blanc when the sky is clear) make it one of the most touristic site in Auvergne. You can reach the summit with a cable car from Mont-Dore or Super Besse ski stations. If you like to walk you can follow path going from Mont-Dore, Super Besse or Chastreix-Sancy ski stations up to the summit. The last metres to the very summit are done with stairs (quite hard ones !) or by a steep and sinous path(but finally more comfortable than the stairs). Of course you guessed that the view on the photo is the one on stairs side ;)
