Photographer's Note

Padlocks like these are used to show eternal love and are fixed on some bridges of Paris. The most well known one is the Pont des Arts, but there are also a growing number of them, along with small ribbons on the Pont de l'Archevκchι behind Notre Dame (shown here).
The process involves throwing the key in the Seine, so there are probably hundreds of them at the bottom of the river.
This was common in other cities of the world (Moscow for instance) and only started in Paris in 2008.
