In autumn, in a meander, on left bank of the Tarn river, the Castle of Charbonnières of the 13th 16th 20th centuries, old stronghold of Montesquiou of Malène. Private property.

Montbrun is a french commune, located in the department of Lozère of the Languedoc-Roussillon area, populated of 71 Montbrunels in 1999, distributed out of 31 km², that is to say 2 hab./km².

The village is built in terraces on the buttress of the Méjean causse.

Several dolmens are visible on the territory of the commune, of which the dolmen of Combelébrousse of 6 m, under which 35 skeletons were found.
