Photographer's Note

Hard about posting something special on that place, that lighthouse is a very famous and symbolic of the Cost of pink granit in Brittany.
But do you know that it is not the original lighthouse?
The original lighthouse was built in 1860 with Ile-Grande island granit (you can have a look on the Workshop to see it with old postcard).
The first was destroyed during the second war and re-built in 1947 with Ploumanac'h typical granite, like you can see it today.
Since 1980, the lighthouse was automated.

For a bigger plan of the site of coast of pink granit, click on that other post of Ploumanac'h Lighthouse.
This shot was a composition of 3 photographs taken vertically and assembly with Autostitch Freeware.
Adjusting colors and light in post traitment, add a frame and title.
