D'un vallon ΰ l'Autre, a photo from Rhone Alpes, South

Photographer's Note

Shot from the Col du Vallon, a pass between two famous lakes of Oisans: Lauvitel and Muzelle. We're 2531m between Aiguille de Venosc (2850) and Tκte de la Muraillette (3102). Downwards, the Lac de la Muzelle, with its refuge, and the Vιnιon valley, where is Saint Christophe en Oisans, and the big needle above it is Aiguille du Plat de la Selle (3597m). The great glacier down its slopes is the Soreiller, or la Selle: that is, "the saddle".
Far on the right-hand is the highest peak in the National Park of Ecrins: La Barre des Ecrins (4102m).
La Meije (3987m) is among the pointed teeth in the middle of the horizon.

Du Lac du Lauvitel ΰ celui de la Muzelle, il n'y a qu'un col que nous n'avons pas franchi cette fois-ci.
C'est le Col du Vallon, qui partage avec son homonyme, entre Col de la Croix de Fer et Pic de l'Etendard (vallιe de l'Eau d'Olle) l'altitude, ΰ un mθtre prθs: 2531m, et le col du vallon de l'Embernard est vainqueur...

L'Embernard est un ru qui serpente jusqu'au Lauvitel. Un lau, un vitel: deux lacs, deux maniθres de nommer un lac...
L'ιpieu rocheux ΰ gauche est issu des brθches de schiste de la Tκte de la Muraillette (3105m) dont on voit l'autre pied ΰ droite. Il indique le col proprement dit. Nous surplombons le vallon de la Muzelle, son lac et son refuge. Au second plan, l'arκte Coche, et sa roche perηιe, une arche naturelle.

Au fond domine l'Aiguille du Plat de la Selle (3597m), qui forme l'extremitι du cirque du glacier du Soreiller, que l'on voit ΰ gauche de l'Aiguille. A ses pieds, le Vιnιon, de Saint Christophe en Oisans ΰ La Bιrarde. Et la Meije, le Rateau et autres pics de La Grave, au loin. Le pic le plus ΰ droite est la barre des Ecrins (4102m), le point culminant du massif susnommι.

je ne connais pas ce col du vallon, dιcidement , le lac, le col, il manque des vallons ΰ ma culture alpine !
merci de m'inciter ΰ la depense de semelles.
j'irai donc !
ton image est tres plaisante et cette saturation sert parfaitement ces reliefs ( et outrage un poil le ciel )
un point de vue ΰ couper le souffle (du moins s'il en reste apres une telle grimpette !)

Hi Francois,
Magnificient view of the beautiful landscape with so many mountain tops. Brown colour in the front feel so soft. There is great depth of field thanks to the sun which is creating shadows on the slopes. And the little lake has amazing colour.

Quelle magnifique panorama montagnard!. La nettetι est excellente. j'adore cette teinte brune de cette zone qui entoure le lac car elle a une trθs belle lumiθre.
Pas ΰ dire pour une photo de ce type je pense qu'il faut marcher un peu(!).

Le POV est vertigineux!suis fascinι par la texture de velour des pentes verdoyantes...l'angle de la lumiere est ideal,l'exposition est delicate avec ces lumieres vives..le ciel s'approche des limites mais reste dans les clous.
Pardonne ma curiositι Francois,mais d'ou te viens cette verve et cette aisance ΰ manier le verbe..?
