Photographer's Note
En ce début novembre, d'épaisses brumes ont envahi le ciel lyonnais.
A la vue de ces brumes et de la grisaille générale même après leur dissipation, je ressens comme un grand besoin de lumière douce et printanière.
Voici donc une photo de fin de printemps.
Elle a été prise depuis les jardins proches de la passerelle des quatre vents, sur le versant ouest de la colline de Fourvière.
Elle présente la Basilique sous un angle et avec un environnement différents des photos classiques, que l'on prend généralement du versant est.
La lumière du petit matin (6H en juin) commence tout juste à éclairer l'édifice avec des teintes rosées, et la vierge dorée brille déjà au-dessus de la capitale des Gaules.

I miss soft and spring light.
So this is an end of spring pic.
It was taken from the gardens close to the footbridge of the quatre vents, on the western slope of the hill of Fourvière.
It presents the Basilica under an angle and with an different environment from the traditional photographs, which are generally taken from the east slope.
The light of the early morning (6 o'clock in June) just starts to light the building with colours dew, and the gilded virgin shines already above the city.

Salut JB,
A voir tous ces arbres on se croirait pas dans la 2eme ville de France (aie je vais pas me faire des amis chez les Marseillais...), sinon je trouve la lumiere douce et les couleurs softs pas mal du tout pour faire ressortir les structures de cette basilique.

Salut JB. A pleasant lighting in this one indeed, as well as a very crisp presentation of the particular architecture of this basilica. You found a good shooting angle to show all the rising spires in a non-overlapping fashion, and the way in which the church rises behind the layer of trees makes for a simple but judicious framing.

concernant ce POV je te félicite de nous montrer Fourvière sous cet ange. Pour ma part je ne l'avais encore jamais vue avec autant de verdure autour. Une belle lumière. 6h du mat ! ben mon gars, si t'es pas accro à la photo toi ;o)

Hi JB,
Your foreground framing is tastefully done and acts as not only a good lead-in to the buildings, but helps balance the frame. The majestic details of the facade of the Basilica are well seen and I really like the warm lighting here, with the heavenly sky blending well and almost welcoming the spires of the Basilica. Very fine work, JB.

Beautiful lighting and you captured it very well. Nice detail on the front facade of the church and the use of the trees to frame the image was a masterful stroke. The early morning side light is perfect as is your exposure. Excellent sharpness with the details. I don't know if it just me or not but it looks like the image is slightly tilted to the right. Anyway, well done!!

je trouve celle ci particulierement reussie, j'aime bcp l'equilibre de la compo, les feuillages apportent quelque chose en plus...le mariqge des couleurs se fait a merveille.

The spring light plays well here and the pinkish pale tones are a pleasant hue across the sky. I like the effect of the foliage at the base of the picture as it adds some good contrast to the overall scene. Nice depiction and good capture.

Lyon une des plus belles ville de France à photographier.
Le contre-jour est bien travaillé en début de journée.
Cependant je centrerai un peu moins le sujet.
