The Notre-Dame cathedral 13th 14th 15th 16th centuries, on the Place d'Armes of Rodez, was built besides 250 years, from 1277 till 1531, in position of a Romanesque cathedral built at about the year 1000, succeeding a building going back up approximately at the beginning of the 6th century. Classified as "Historic Monument" since 1862.

With its facade built in red stoneware, dominating the city, its 102 m of length and 37 m of wide, its two unfinished massive towers with defensive vocation, and its bell tower Flamboyant Gothic of 87 m, the cathedral of Rodez is visible practically everywhere in 20km around.

RODEZ is a french municipality, located in the department of the Aveyron of the Midi-Pyrnes area, populated of 24 358 Ruthnois in 2009, distributed out of 11,2 km, that is to say 2 178,7 hab./km.

Rodez is a city 2000 years old, established in the 5th century before Christ, by Ruthnes, Celtic tribe of Central Europe.

Situated between the Grands Causses and the Sgala, the municipality is situated at an average height of 570 meters, with a continental climate and a good period of sunshine.
