Photographer's Note
Despite the rise and rise of the supermarket, France continues to maintain a tradition of independent local butcher shops. Many small French towns still have at least one such shop, long may the tradition reign! I was attracted by the warm tones of the frontage of this shop, which stands next to the market hall in Foix.
Foix is a French town and commune. Once the former capital of the County of Foix, today it is the Prιfecture or administrative centre of the Ariθge department in southwestern France. It is located in the Midi-Pyrιnιes region, lying south of Toulouse, close to the border with Spain and Andorra.

On dirait que la place du marchι est vide ce qui te permets d'utiliser la halle pour avoir ce point de vue sur la boucherie du village. Une belle gestion de la lumiθre difficile.

I like how the foreground of this shot is in shade, as it draws the eye through the structure to the fine light on this traditional shop, and creates superb depth. It is nice to see independent shops survive so well, that is not the case in Ireland where large chain stores have killed off many town centers. Really nicely seen.

this is an intriguing and unusual composition. I like how you've framed the facade of the shop with the shed and the shade. The repetitive patterns of the columns are attractive too and there's excellent sharpness both on the facade and on its surroundings.
