Here's a pigeonnier photographed Castres in the Tarn. There are several types of pigeon, the pigeon is on Castres kind of pliers.

"Dovecotes on pillars

There are nearly two hundred. They usually have four pillars round sections; if there are more, it is of a post-construction for the purpose of reinforcing modifications, there may be one to four additional angles therebetween. The body rests on four beams, themselves live support without any fixation on the pillars. Oak beams, carefully chosen after drying for 10 to 15 years are as strong as the original, even after two or three centuries. They are joined together by tongue and mortise; if there are hardware, they are still further. The pigeon is divided into three parts:

- Pillars: cylindrical drum has an average height of 2m and sandstone (of Naves). The fungus first element of defense against pests is usually round, but can be square or disappear. The capital as well as the diameter of the stop was a low angle shot; it is sometimes absent.

This allows to distinguish three subtypes, the pigeon castrais type, dovecote pyramidal roof and pigeonnier with skylight or roof variety. But all have in common: the pillars and the body; differentiates one roof.

Dovecotes of Castres category
There has never skylight, the outputs of pigeons are found only at the base of pinnacle. It is found that in a rectangle of twenty-four and twenty-eight kilometers around the eponymous town, Castres. It is a dovecote on stone pillars Naves (village near Castres) with:

- Even two or three elements
- Mushroom large basal damiθtre
- Big square section and low angles beaten.

The box can be either masonry or timbering. The pyramidal roof is low slope topped by a very slender steeple, all slated Dourgne (other near Castres village); at the top, there is usually a keel sandstone Naves but sometimes a ceramic pigeon can overcome the building. Skylights are still absent at the origin.
