Traditional sailing ships known as "Pointus Sètois", with latin rigging. They are moored in the basin, called "Vieux Bassin", basin of arrival of the trawlers, along the "Saint Louis" mole of 1666 and 750 m length. At the edge of the basin, one sees the public auction, "La crièe", of Sète and at the bottom the exit of the channel of Sète from "Thau" pond to the Mediterranean.
Sète is a town of 40000 inhabitants to 30 km of Montpellier, to narrow enters the sea Méditerranée and the pond of Thau. It bore the name of Cette until 1928. Since 1666 until now a succession of great work have made it the 11th wearing of France. It is also the 1st port of fish of Méditerranée.

Hello Joel,
A nice composition with these foreground boats with their strong colours and the eye then being taken across the water to the town. Good use of the portrait format and good clarity.

Ils sont bien saisis ces bâteaux bien rangés et bien colorés. C'est vrai que j'ai un faible pour les photos marines car si je suis plusieurs jours sans voir la mer, celà me manque. Celà donne un cliché agréable à regarder.

Retour aux photos colorés!
C'est bien construit, très agréable avec un bon choix de format. je ferais juste une petite remarque, il me semble voir un peu de bruit sur les bleus. Le passage par un logiciel comme Netimage règlerait surement ceci.

Nice photo, i like the composition and the colors are nice with good sharpness, and light.
What i like less is the tilted to the right horizon...

Un très beau cadrage et une ambiance ensoleillée qui nous fait beaucoup de bien pendant cette période maussade. La composition avec le format vertical et le disposition symétrique de ces barques est vraiment très bien realisée.

Joël, des pointus ça évoque le bateau de Monsieur Brun de Pagnol. J'aime cette photo avec ces petits bateaux qui semblent se blottir les uns contre les autres pour mieux résister au temps qui passe. Les couleurs vives sont superbes.
