Birches and aspens on golden autumn colours about an hour before sunset. Lake Sδrkijδrvi.
I would love autumn if the weather was more often like this. But weather statistic reveal that in October Southern Finland gets about 90 hours of sunshine. In November and December this number falls to about 30.

Beautiful, really beautiful! This contrast between the golden trees and the threatening sky is hardly to surpas. The small cabin gives a lovely addition. I like this one very much!

What a wonderful picture showing the nordic autumn at its best. The yellow/orange colours comes forward very well in contrast to the dark sky.

It's good you ran out of home to catch the moment because the scene setting and the light you got here are just plain lovely, a very nice autumn view where elements like the small house by the lake are very nice.

Extraordianary autumn colours here, with little green to break it up. The light is really good, and I appreciate the way you have composed this with the jetty leading the eye to a point right in front of the little house. I think you have just the right amount of sky in the shot.

This is a great image of autumn colors and this place is really beautiful, your note adds a bit of sadness because the few hours of sun in winter, this photo can help you in the next days without sun and colors, well done Kari, compliments.

Hi Kari,
I love it. Such warm autumn colours and a grey sky but the capture is bright and lovely. Very nice view on the lake and the hut at left works as great as the catwalk at right.

Although it's not the same country, this reminds me of the birch trees changing colour when I lived in Oslo (sorry I only saw Finland under snow). The way the bright yellow surrounds the lake and contrasts with the dark clouds is so pretty. I like the cute hut peeking through the trees too.

This is a great shot using a telephoto lens. May I suggest, it may be better using a wide angle lens.

what a feast of colors. I had first to run and get my sunglasses ... ;-)
I wish I would have at least half of this autumnal splendor here in California, but no, a desert doesn't havbe anything to offer during this period of the year. You got a magistral composition with the lake and the pier on the right side. The dark sky with those grey clouds gives the perfect backdrop for the golden colors.

Hi Kari,
I can't imagine what that would be like to get 30 hours of sunshine in a whole month. I can see why you would treasure this wonderful, warm golden light in the golden trees. Nice framing with the curve of golden trees banded by the grey sky and lake. The pier and the red cabin add nice focal points.

Looking at your photo, i thought at first that it was Home, in Canada, as the scenery and the colors are so much alike.
I like your composition, with this view going around, showing a colorful spectacle, one that makes fall my preferred season, a bit ahead of winter.
The covered sky gives a good contrast and makes the colors more lively.
