Photographer's Note
Finland has over 300000 km of shoreline on its lakes, rivers and the Baltic sea, enough to make it eight times around the globe. In my opinion it's the major factor on natural beauty of Finland, the real natural resource. We also have almost 500000 summer cottages, most of them by the lakes. On many other countries a holiday home by the water would be far beyond reach.
Luckily Finland is far away from more densely populated EU countries. Don't you think invasion would be otherwise inevitable?

Good horizontal layering here Kari, with the sunlit trees nicely framed by the dark sky and shadowy snow.
The success of this shot is all down to your great timing, and having the trees highlighted by the sun like that works really well.

Hi Kari. Nice horizontal layers with lovely contrasts.The soft blue at the bottom sets off nicely the sun drenched middle layer where one finds lovely details. The sky has a softness that echoes the bottom section. Nice harmonious composition which is most pleasant to look at.Regards. Klaudio.

Great winter landscape! The colors and lighting are great with excellent sharpness and DOF. The lighting on the frosted trees is great and the sky is perfect for this shot. Nice use of the rule of thirds here with excellent contrast and balance.

The sun enhances the trees covered with snow creating a wonderful image.. the wooden houses in the wood give me a sense of hydillic landscape.

Hello Kari,
Splendid late afternoon shot, really like it.
The clouds and the shadow over the snowy lake work very well as they put all focus on bright light on the houses and the trees.
Remembers me of some nice winters with lots of snow when I lived in Stockholm. TFS

This is maybe a topic or usual winter image,but...everybody want to shot one like this.And I΄m sure it΄s more difficult that one thoughts.

The light on the lacey frosted trees is just magical!! The practice of a place at the shore and one in the mountains (300 meters) is common in Nova Scotia as well; perhaps for some of the same reasons. HLJ, Pat

Hello Kari,
Great landscape!
The lighting is amazing. Just the trees are in the light, and the dark clouds in background made the tree even more beautiful.

This is the image of winter in Finland that I have in my mind. A perfect winter view.

I don't think so. (1) It's too cold. (2) It's too far.
