Photographer's Note
View of Koskipuisto park towards Hδmeensilta bridge.
The day was very cold. Steam rising from Tammerkoski mixed with steam of Tako carton factory creating original framing for the backlit park scene.
Underexposed 1,3 steps to avoid overexposure on the cloud's silver lining. Brightened rest of the scene in PP.

Hi Kari,
The instant framing that smoke created plus that railing curve are fantastic ingredients of this excellent composition. Contrast between the snow and the city surroundings is also very good. Well captured daily life scene ... excellent.
Cheers,

Great composition. It just like the person on the left coner is walking to somewhere misty. very surrealistic : )

Hi Kari
The center of the photo is not so nice, but the "frame" is wonderful. Well seen.

Hi Kari - the timing is of the essence here, the way the steam envelops the view is perfect, the apartment building will not win any beauty contests but the frost covered trees compensate for that.

The fog and the steam combine to make a very unusual frame for the winter scene. It's as if we are peeping through a sideways-on cloud. The fog at the bottom seems to have fit itself within the fence and the rest of the scene is bathed in lovely light. Very good work.

Hi Kari - it's a very atmospheric shot, thanks to that impressive cloud of steam that fills the right hand side of the frame here.
The exposure levels are excellent, underexposing it just a little was the correct choice. I like the backlighting and the two silhouettes (are they statues or people?) just under the most central tree.

Perfect framing, Kari! All that steam really creates the feel of a winter morning in the city, and it surrounds a pretty urban scene, with a person walking into the frame to add human warmth. It's great how the steam blocks the factory and leaves on the beauty. Well done! Regards, Ken.

Terve Kari,
I like here how the evveopping fog adds some mystery, specially in the inner curves where the 2 silhouettes are, are these people, it seems to me more statues, the person in the lower left corner provides a good balance.
Have a nice week end,

Hi Kari,
It seems that the fog will soon engulf the whole scene. It's impressive! It's a great natural frame for this scene and you've perfectly managed the difficulty of the backlight. Like JY, I like the silhouettes of the two statues placed right in the center of the fog circle.
Have a nice Sunday.

Hi Kari
fascinating compo with the silhouettes...and how the road leads the person on the left to join her companions above the steam and what amazing steam that was! great atmospheric work...I'd try a BW workshop...which I think brings more 'tension' hope ya dont mind..

Hi Kari,
What a dramatic vapor image from Tammerkoski. I especially like the 2 statues on the Hδmeensilta bridge and the lady on the bottom left corner. Hotel Ilves looks as ugly as always, but even that does not manage to ruin the well planned shot.

Hi Kari,
Being a northern habitant like you, I can identify myself to this climate and ressent the frostbyte... You’ve done a really great job to capture this weather manifestation in a striking way! By shooting against the sun and using the steam as a screen provide a very impressive result. The contrast are awesome and because of the light, this scene looks almost B&W.
Excellent point of view, impeccable exposure management and a very attractive shot.
Top notch!

Hi Kari,
I like this shot, the framing of steam makes the feeling of this photo very unreal. The riverbank curving into the mist and the person on the front walking along that road leads eyes towards the two statues standing on the bridge. The golden ratio can be found from many parts of this photo, this composition is very pleasing and the feeling in this picture is calm but very cold at the same time. The colors are perfect for this photograph.

Great framing here. I think that the fog rather than the scenery itself makes the picture here.

Hello Kari
The frame created by the fog has made this a special photo. The 2 silhouetted statues in the distance are an added bonus. Well captured, Marlene
