This picture was taken in Kemi, in the Finnish lapland.
Every year the inhabitants build a castle which is entirely made of snow and ice.
This photo was taken inside the church of the caslte.
The statue and the bench were made of ice.
A woman was prating on the left side.

This one is eerily appealing. Composition is simple and effective, especially since the woman is offset nicely by the candle stand on the right. Good of you to record this one for posterity.

I should visit Kemi during wintertime – I΄ve seen so many great shots – including yours – of the buildings made of ice. Interesting "altarpiece", the candles in the icepillars look beautiful. And the woman is a nice addition.

Beautiful subject, obviously. The greenish light both warms it up and adds an otherworldy hue. My only suggestion would have been to get as straight a shot as possible, since the contrast of the woman and globe-cage-cross offers a nice natural break in symmetry. Perhaps, also getting lower and achieving a slight abstraction using one of the ice blocks would be nice? Anyhow, I wasn't there having to freeze my fingers on the shutter, so I'll shut up. Cheers!

Amazing photo, amazing subject. I like the illuminated JC in the centre and the praying figure on the left balanced by that candles on the right.. I would probably crop a little bit at the bottom (1-2cm?), but the shot remains beautiful as it is.
