Kongens Nytorv by Night

I’d like to continue on TE with picture #299, showing you the square Kongens Nytorv in the heart of Copenhagen. The picture was taken around midnight in June, during the so-called "lyse nζtter" (light nights), this means there's astronomical dusk whole night; it never gets totally dark.

Kongens Nytorv (The King’s New Square) was built in 1670 by King Christian V. The square is connected with another important square, Rεdhuspladsen (Town Hall Square), by the shopping street Strψget. Buildings that can be found at Kongens Nytorv are among other buildings det Kongelige Teater (Royal Theatre), the big department store Magasin du Nord and Hotel d'Angleterre.

On this picture you can see det Kongelige Teater (left hand side) and Magasin du Nord (right hand side). The statue in the middle is the square’s founder, King Christian V.
The big light objects under the trees is the photo exhibition "Spirit of the Wild" by Steve Bloom.

Another picture of Kongens Nytorv can be found here.
Probably I’ll upload a daytime picture of this square later.
Hope you like this one!
