Diamond in the Dark

This is my next night shot from Copenhagen. Here you can see Den Sorte Diamant (The Black Diamond), the new extension of Det Kongelige Bibliotek (Royal Library).

Den Sorte Diamant is located at the island Slotsholmen, not far from Christiansborg Slot and opposite Christiansbro. This new extension was built in addition to the library building built in 1906, the building was completed in 1999. It took four years to build the Diamond, that was designed by architect office Schmidt, Hammer & Lassen. The facade is made of black marble and glass.

The white diagonal in the facade is the reflection of the road Christians Brygge.

I took this picture around half past twelve, but as you can see it wasn't completely dark. In the Summer months it never get completely dark in Danmark, this phenomenon is called "de lyse nζtter" (the light nights). In this period the sun is less than 18 degrees below the horizon during the night, this means there's astronomical dusk whole night.
Despite 'de lyse nζtter' I brightened the picture a bit, but not too much, so the Diamond wouldn't be more than a silhouette.

Here you can find two other picture of the Diamond:
Det Kongelige Bibliotek
Den Sorte Diamant
Hope you like this one as well!
