Photographer's Note

Nyhavn by Night

This is the second picture at night, but this time it shows you Nyhavn, Copenhagen, at about half past one in the night.
My first night shot can be found here: Slotsholmen by Night.

Nyhavn, that means "New Harbour" is very popular among tourists as well as the locals because of the many bars and restaurants. It is located in the heart of Copenhagen near the square Kongens Nytorv.
Nyhavn is one of the oldest parts of Copenhagen, it was built by King Christian V in the second half of the 17th century and was in that time called Nyhavnskanalen (New Harbour's Canal). The houses at Nyhavn are more than 300 years old and the oldest one is Nyhavn no.9, that dates back to 1681.
Fairytale-writer H.C. Andersen (1805-1875) is a famous resident of Nyhavn.

Two other picture that I took in Nyhavn:
Nyhavn I
Nyhavn II
