Kladno is a statutory town in Central Bohemia, it has about 69 thousand [1] inhabitants and is thus the largest city in the Central Bohemia Region and the thirteenth largest city in the Czech Republic. It is known for its black coal mining in the past and the education of hockey players.
Kladno is located 25 km northwest of Prague in the Kladno Chalkboard, which represents the western part of the Prague Plateau, on the border with Křivokltsk Highlands. The southern and western parts of the city are situated on a relatively flat territory forming a divide between the Vltava and Berounka; towards the northeast, several shallow valleys begin to descend from here. There are no larger watercourses in the city, only a few streams. The most important is the Dřetovick stream, which runs through the branches of the Kladno - city train station, the Stentejn valley, the former brewery and the forest of Dlouh Borovina. Other streams, which belong to the Vltava river basin, are the Tneck stream (spring in the village of Motyčn) and Lidick (source in the village of Kročehlavy). The Rozdělovsk brook belongs to the Berounka basin. The divorce is approximately to the area of Doberska and Vačkova streets. Kladno is almost entirely surrounded by woods - the furthest edge of the Křivoklt and Dbnu wooded areas. In most of the city's territory and in its northern to western neighborhoods, the depth of the carbon black coal deposit is now partly extracted. The landscape is marked by the traces of the mining and industrial activities of the past two centuries - the overgrown heaps of mine dust and iron slag are not overlooked. Likewise, the Thuringian pond under the Serbian village, which after the fall of part of the territory (caused by mining activities) and the flood of the so called Pansk cesta acquired the popular name of Flooding.
