Hello Philip - thanks for sharing this unique stone statue that appears to be in such a barren place. I like how you have chosen a lower perspective here, giving us a better sense of the height of this statue, and his eyes pointed towards what seems to be a valley below.

I wonder how old this statue is and what represents. It does seem odd for the stone art to be sitting in this field surrounded by nothing. Interesting landmark for sure. The colours of the image are very nice. Thanks Philip.

Hi Philip. Great photo. The low angle light has bought out the textures and forms of the statue well. I love the sky you captured as a backdrop. Well composed and thanks for sharing.

Really the weather was on your side that day, the sky is amazing and so colorful and perfectly contrasts the stones and the yellow grass. There is also a village near my town named Bistritza, but that's not so odd considering that Bulgaria is our neighbor country.

Hello Philip,
What an amazing statue you found in the middle of the countryside. It really is fascinating. Have you learnt what it is? It doesn't look ancient. I love your compo and the inclusion of the sky. Did you try other compositions as well? It could be a good idea to shoot it from a very low POV and a tight crop - the satutue and the sky only.

The sky in this picture is wonderful, and really has something of mysterious in it! And the statue is interesting, we can see many faces on it (depending on how much we drink hehehe).

Hi Philip! I like this picture... The sky looks great to me! And this odd sculpture out of nowhere and the yellow green grass makes it a great compo, with excellent colors! The shadows on the statue are giving good relief to it!

PS: careful with the framing, the black top/bottom borders are thinner than the left/right borders. If it's intentional disregard this PS... but I think (with some exceptions) that pictures look better when the borders are of the same thickness.
