Photographer's Note

He is a gipsy boy. He was very shy and didn't tell me his name.
I saw him obediently waiting, sitting on this bench, opposite of the entrance of a small church, while his father was beging there.
It was a very warm day and he has put his jacket neatly folded in a plastic bag, holding it all the time with utmost care.
First I noticed his father. Gave him some money and asked him not to spend it on a drink. He then said, how could I - there is my son...
I know that begging here turns out to be a very well organised business. I know that maybe the money we give to people in need may not be used for their own needs. But I was impressed by the boy's patience waiting there, instead of playing with his friends...His eyes were all the time fixed on his father. As if taking care of him too...
He had a wonderful smile - all white teeth and brightness. But every time I pointed the camera at him he became immediately serious.
He looked to me quite older than his age - in those dark eyes already was growing up the wisdom of life...

pp: cleared, cropped the edge of the bench at right /it was overexposed/, saturated once, sharpened slightly, resized.
This is my first attempt for a portrait, so all comments for improvement are warmly welcomed!
