Photographer's Note

Good afternoon, dear friends,
This is a shot without a tripod as you can see.
I have the pleasure to tell you that this one house once belonged to one of the Shkorpil brothers, two Czechs who vastly contributed to the foundation and development of our Bulgarian archaeology.
For his merits, the Mayor of Varna gave him a plot of land to build a house to live forever.
My information isn't first-hand. This is what I heard when I was talking to a man trimming his garden in the yard of this very house. And the man,in his middle age, tourned out to be one of the descendents of the Bulgarian housekeepers Herman Shkorpil kept in his lifetime.
Shkorpil spent almost all his life in Varna but he went to die in Prague.
When? Well, after the Liberation War of 1877-78.
A lot of people from nowadays Czech Republic came to help the new Bulgarian state to weave the canvas of todays' silhouette of my country and city.
