‘Villers-la-Ville - Further exploration of the ruins’
These are my last pictures of my visit to the ruins of Villers Abbey in Villers-la-Ville.
For lovers of ruins, this abbey is an inexhaustible source for beautiful photos.
By now you will think that I have already shown you every corner of the abbey. This is not true but I think it is high time to change the subject.
Other visitors showed fewer pictures of this abbey on TE or sometimes even just one photo. So did Malgo. But this is probably because her photo archive is so extensive and she wanted to move on to another destination.
I thought it was an interesting and beautiful place to visit.
I can't explain why I was less impressed on my first visit a few decades ago. It is possible that fewer parts of the site were open to the public at the time. I don't know…
But now it's clear to me. Ruins of large abbeys aren’t only found in the UK or in Italy :)
In my main photo I managed to include some other visitors, and even 4 people.

Hello Paul,
For me one the most beautiful compositions you did there. This view on the left, through the window, showing the beautiful interior of the abbey and this diagonal exploring the beauty of a grandiose past and the inclusion of tourists resulted in a great and attractive photo.
Best regards

Salut Paul,
ce lieu et cette abbaye sont particuliθrement photogιniques, un autre angle de vue bien pensι avec cette perspective ΰ travers cette ouverture dans ces ruines, bien cadrι et bien gιrι avec ce contraste de luminositι, bravo !

Hello Paul,
I had to search for the third and fourth person, but I immediately appreciated the couple coming towards us on the path. I also like the view through the nearest hole in the wall and the diagonal accent of the photo. Lovers of geometry will probably find a number of interesting figures in the WS, especially #2. Lovers of nice light will enjoy all these photos.
Best regards,
Gert

Bonjour Paul,
La prιsence des personnes a un effet d'ιchelle de grandeur. La prise de vue permet de voir les dιtails des ruines de l'abbaye de Villers. La lumiθre met en valeur la beautι des couleurs. Bonne journιe.

Hello Paul, a lovely collection of shots, any one of them could have been a main post.
You were obviously looking for interesting points of view, especially in the shots where you have lined up the arches.
You had a good light on the day of your visit.
Thanks for sharing.
Kind regards, Jean.

Hallo Paul,
De voorste boog laat de andere delen van de abdij nog heel mooi zien, maar ook de verlichte bakstenen in de ramen langs de muur aan de rechterkant zijn heel aantrekkelijk. Mooi gezien en mooi gevangen in een goede compositie.

Hi Paul, fortunately in Italy many abbeys are still well preserved and it is not easy to find ruins like this one, while they immediately make one think of Great Britain. 3 more beautiful photos, and I understand you, these places are truly an infinite source of angles and perspectives, great quality as always. Have a nice evening and thanks,Luciano

Hi Paul,
Fantastic series again. I like one of the workshops with so many arches and nice light.
I think in the past I was more keen on showing one photo from one place only. I was much less active on TE then and I think I was more focused on trying to achieve certain quality. I am not saying that I got much worse now but I like to share more angles now and I am afraid the photos in workshop do not get much attention. Maybe it also depends on how many places you visit. I am aware now that I won't be able to visit too many new places anytime soon so I am trying to make the best use of what I have. Long story.
Beautiful work here. Places like this deserve more attention. I suppose if you are a tourist from abroad you are forced to rush though places and if you are local you can take your time pick a good weather day. You certainly had a nice weather there and you made the great use if the place. Great composition, very interesting reportage,

Hello Paul,
Another excellent exploration of this site. Due to the composition it looks like two separate picture each of them featuring human presence. The nice and shadows are nice on this picture.
Best Wishes,
Gy.

Hello Paul,
I like this composition; having one section of the abbey fit perfectly into the open, stone window in the foreground is great. I also like the light and shadows on the ground, and the couple in the distance. Everything is very well-balanced. I hope all is well with you. Take care!
