The photo taken in Maldegem in the morning with a beautiful sunrise
The area that lies low and where regular beautiful fog fields arise
There is a large diversity of soils in the area according to the Soil Map of Belgium (Ameryckx, 1958, 1965 and 1968). In the lake area these are mainly peat soils (eastern part) and strongly slippery sand loam soils and clay soils without a profile (western part). In the Maldegem lakes, the peat rests on a layer of marsh lime 20 to 40 centimeters thick, under which there is sandy lime-containing material. A pleistocene sand ridge consisting of dry sand bottoms is centered in most of the day. The field is mainly characterized by wet sand loam bottoms without a profile.

Hello John,
This photo shows the benefit of sometimes getting up early. (I never do that.) You captured a magical light of the low sun shining through the mist, leaving the naked trees like silhouettes. The sky is beautiful too and shows that Belgian airspace is very busy.

I have to apologize for saying that this impression looks typically Dutch to my unfamiliar eyes. Well, I assume that the place can be found not far from the Dutch border. And you must have been out rather early, chβpeau!

Hallo John, one should get up early to enjoy such natural spectacle. This road enters deeply in the countryside and allows to discover places off the beaten tracks. The sun at the horizon combined to the fog create a magical visual effect. Fine colors, good sharpness, instructive photo note, regards.

I knew this was yours before I checked more carefully.
The photograph has all your hallmarks of fine composition of the Belgian landscape.
I just love the early light, the sun appearing with a golden glow and lighting the underside of the clouds as well as the low mist over the fields.
The naked trees are expressive features in your photograph.

Het lijkt wel of al die vliegtuigen hoog in de lucht naar de ondergaande zon vliegen.
Door de verschillende richtingen van de lange lijnen ontstaat een prachtige compositie, maar toch zou het beter zijn voor het milieu zonder de vliegtuigstrepen.
Een prachtige sfeervolle zonsopgang.
