You seem to have an enormous archive where you can pick out new masterpieces all the time. This is so well taken, a perfectly balanced composition with superb treatment of light and colours. And most important is that it shows a very pretty scenery.

Hi John,
Lovely viewpoint showing reflections on the canal. That old house, big tree and windmill make a good background. And big clouds add some drama to the sky.

Een oudere foto, maar een absoluut pareltje, John. Dit vind ik één van je allerbeste! Prachtige diagonaal in de compositie, perfect licht & kleuren. De molen, de boom en de molen in de verte...en dan die weerspiegelingen! Super!

Hallo John,
Een meesterlijke foto!
Ik herinner me dat je eens een vergelijkbare foto getoond hebt. Of tenminste dichtbij deze plaats genomen.
Het landschap ziet er tegelijkertijd lieflijk en rustig uit en toch eveneens dramatisch.
Daar zorgt die lucht uiteraard voor.
Onder de dreigende lucht toch een prachtig licht.
In dergelijke weersomstandigheden wil ik nog eens terug naar Damme.
Uitstekende compositie, scherpte, diepte en prachtige natuurlijke kleuren.
Echt heel mooi gedaan!

Hello John, I am surprised that you haven't posted this shot before, it is a lovely scene. For me, it epitomises Flanders! It has everything.
An excellent composition, and such beautiful colours and sharpness.

This is you and your camera, at your very best, capturing the natural but iconic scenery of Belgium!
The canal is very strongly positioned to give a diagonal guide line and to capture the amazing reflections of the canal-side features.
It is just beautiful, from the strong f/g triangle to the warmth of the terracotta roof; from the smooth line of the canal, to the strongly placed windmill.
Even the sunlight and shadows and the sky add importantly to the overall effect.

Wow ....... what beauty this composition, with the canal and its beautiful reflections in the foreground, ideal all the shore of it, with the charming house and the big tree next to it, the mill a bit in the background together to other constructions, and an impressive sky, with those dramatic clouds, create a beautiful corner in contact with nature.

What a beautiful - and very Flemish - sight! The windmill is THE eye-cartcher here. In addition the different diagonals here provide something like dynamics and the vivid sky makes the scenery perfect.
