Dear John,
The double-masted sailing ship is really quite beautiful. It's too bad its two mainsails had not been unfurled yet, leaving a large gap in the middle. As usual, you produced a well-composed shot with excellent good resolution in 2011, almost six years ago.
Warm regards,
Bulent

Hello John,
a fascinating depiction of the lovely ship, it's amazing how, in spite of the close framing and the simple and neat composition, you've achieved a great sense of movement. I think that this is due to the fine textures and details that are distributed effectively and make movement so vivid and agreeable. Sharpness is exquisite, the discreet and soft ambiance offers really good contrast. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a great evening,
Ourania

Hi John,
This sailship view looks very nice even though the sky is greyish. But luckily those sails catch sidelight well giving a contrasty look. The horizon leans slightly to right.

Hi John,
The distance between the boat and the horizon is giving depth to the scene. The point of view is showing the details of the sailboat. The grey sky does not hurt the output of the colours. Have a nice day.

Prachtige foto van de zijkant van dit zeilschip. Het zachte licht is heel plezierig en doet het schip mooi uitkomen tegen de heiige achtergrond.

This is a remarkable photo of the elegant ship. The photo is greatly enhanced by the fine light and mild colours of grayish blue. It is a harmonious composition where all parts fit perfectly together.

Hi John
A successful compo ensures the eye is fix glued on the sailboat within an atmospheric dull day. It's detailed to optimum with min colour rendition suiting the condition. A decent shot well registered, Congrats.

Hallo John,

I think you had a nice series of these sails-ships I saw previously on your gallery, John - but must say this one was relatively closer to shore, but still needed a 400mm lens to catch such a wonderful view cruising at sea.
Fine long and clear shot at.
Have a nice weekend,
Ike

Hello John
For the record, this is a Dutch brig (2 masts, both with square sails) called "Morgenster" (Morning Star in English). She is a sail training ship based in the Netherlands. She was built, as a herring lugger under the name De Vrouw Maria, in 1919. In 1927, she was lengthened by 7 metres (23 ft) and converted into a motor fishing vessel. She was renamed Morgenster in 1959 and continued to be used as a fishing vessel until 1970. After a period of use for sport fishing and in the pirate radio business, she was acquired by her current owners for conversion back to a sailing vessel in 1983. She made her maiden voyage as a sail training ship in 2008, having been refitted as a brig.
Your long lens has done a fair job of filling the frame with your subject.
Regards
Will

A beautiful sailing ship my friend, well framed with the boat entering from the left and space to go ahead. A slightly wonky horizon but it doesn't detract from the overall image...

Hi John,
Perfect capture of the sailboat, i bet you are on another boat when you took this shot
It gives a little imagination that it was sailing to the right
Very crispy short and it didnt want to sail to fast hence the mainsail was folded halved
Wonderful composition
