Photographer's Note
Today’s posting is a pair of slides picked from the memories box and brought to life by the means of a modern scanner.
I think the subdue colours still represent the harsh winter conditions I had during my only ever visit to Belgium. The day was wet and cold, the sky was overcast and grey and by the end of last century, in 1980, nobody dreamed about digital cameras!!!
The main posting is a classic view of The Belfry seen from the Canal Rozenhoedkaai while the WS is a view of the Gothic Lockhouse from the Minnewater – Lake of Love.

Hi Antonio.
I am now glad to see that I was not the only one who went to Bruges on a dull grey day. It was so cold the day I visited, in 2006 I think, that I could hardly manipulate the camera. The quality of the image gives it a look of being old and distant, which I like. Your framing is elegant and just right.

Andrew

Cumprimentos,

Hello Sr Antonio, it was taken 29 years ago but when I visited there in the early 2000s, the view was more or less the same. Despite the old technology of that time, the photo is much better in quality than many of the digital photos taken today. Congratulations. Tolga

Hi Antonio. I find its great that we can give our old slides a new digital life, but I find it very time consuming and it gets put in the rainy day basket. The photo matches our temperature at the moment. Well composed, I like the reflections also. Thanks for sharing.
Have a good Easter, Paul.

Hello Antonio,
The building appears to be without any foundation, floating on the water. Of course, its just my lousy imagination. But the photo revived from the achieve box is a good one, well composed architectural photo and you made the best out of it despite the bright background light. The mood is certainly well conveyed in this shot.

Hi Antonio, Good view across the canal at some of the historic buildings in Belgium. They look like they will stand another 100 years. It is good to see new places such as this through your lens. Difficult skie, but a good result. TFS. Murray.

Bonjour, cher ami Antonio,
Philippe
P.S. : Merci pour la photo présentée en bonus.

Olá Antonio,
Their high facades and traditional architectures very well captured in your well taken photo. I liked matted, icy water surface and reflection on it. Grains increased your old photo's beauty. Happy Easter.

Hello Antonio,
What a long time ago, but Bruges is today exactly the same than almost thirty years ago.
Bruges a little bit my city, every week I am in Bruges, I live 15 km of this city.
Lovely tranquil shadows and very rich textures to this amazing architecture.
Composition and presentation are very well, TFS.
Have a nice Easter Weekend,
John.

Bruges is always pleasant to see. Here the buidings are the main interest, due to the grey sky, but they still keep all the charm of the city.
All the best,

Ola Antonio,
Bela composicao e perspectiva.A qualidade do scam esta impecavel.

Hello Antonio,
A good scan of this enchanting old photo from Bruges. Interesting architecture. Good POV, perspective and composition in vertical format. A tranquil atmosphere. No wonder this city is sometimes called "The Venice of the North", although that name is more often associated with Stockholm though. :-) The WS is also very attractive. TFS!

Hi Antonio, how did I miss this one? I really like your use of vertical here. It's a shame about the sky (but what could you honestly have done otherwise??) The reflections are beautiful and you've picked up the detail of the architecture superbly. Well done, Lisa.

Bonjour Antonio

Hi Antonio,
Yes the colors are a bit dull, but it is almost a 30 years old picture, taken on a grey day in Belgium! We don't expect a bright tropical light!
Anyway Bruges is a very beautiful town, and here the compo is good at showing it. Sharpnes is ok and the compo itself is fine.
Greetings

Hello Antonio
I am attracted to old scans and this is a good one. The colours are still present and it is certainly sharp - I suspect you have helped the sharpness along and it has enhanced the image. A good pov with nice reflections. Tfs, Marlene

Hello Antonio,
A well composed oldie, with sharp fine details!
I guess the age explains at least partly the bit muted colours and I remember the Spotmatic, it was a well designed and fine camera...
