Photographer's Note

I cannot remember where this castle is located; as I am roaming around in the greater region (South of Belgium, North of France, West of Germany)on weekends and during vacations to find locations like this... I'll find out where it was and add the info when available.

The photo consists of 2 shots using a tripod:

1) Exposure time (1/10sec) and aperture (5.6) set to the castle and surroundings.
Focus set on the left edge of the tower.

2) Exposure time (1/250sec) and aperture (2.3) set to the sky.
Focus set to infinite.

In Photoshop both pictures were 'married'. An interesting side effect is the fog in the woods, adding to the spookiness, that did not exist while the picture was taken.

The idea was to capture the scene, as one would see it in reality, as any photograph of the scene would either overexpose the sky or underexpose the castle.

I love this kind of 'Twilight-Photography' and have done quite a few experiments which I will post.
