Kortrijk - Metal wave in the sky

The building in the background is the theatre of Kortrijk.
In the foreground you can see part of a large modern fountain.

However, I didn't really like the fountain as a whole and just wanted to photograph its waving part in the sky together with the theatre.

I looked for a point of view where the tower of the building was not hidden behind the metal pipes.
But the only option for that was to stand in the basin of the fountain and actually I didnt want to have wet feet :) So here's a picture that I'm not completely satisfied with.

A better view of the building can be found in the WS.

Hello Paul,
I am overwhelmed by the dedication of WS#1. I never knew Kortrijk could make me feel so at home. I actually like the colourful staircase too.
As for the main photo and the second WS the buildings don't look particularly interesting, but this composition is very smart. I have no idea what the entire fountain looks like, but you managed to use this detail for am interesting and eye-catching photo. It's very elegant and would have looked good also against just the sky.

Hi Paul,you are not satisfied but for me the photo is excellent, the effect of the very original structure of the fountain creates an excellent result, a different way of showing the same building that we see in the "classic" WS. The other WS is also interesting, it looks like a springboard for skaters .. I don't think it's healthy to do it with scooters ... ahaha .. Have a nice evening and thanks,Luciano

Hallo Paul,
Een prachtige combinatie van de klassieke architectuur van de schouwburg en de dansende lijnen van de fontein op de voorgrond. Ik snap de keuze om er maar een deel van te laten zien en het resultaat is uitstekend, maar ik ben ook wel benieuwd hoe de fontein er in z'n geheel uitziet.

Hello Paul, It looks very attractive with the metal wave. I wanted to see the fountain in Google, but it was covered with something. The big building doesn't look like the theatre. I remember that one can travel by train everywhere in Belgium very cheap. I used it extensively. :). On my map in TE Belgium is quite yellow. I suppose that I was also in the white patch but I didn't post the photo. Do you know Mons? I liked it there. Another interesting place I have visited is Villers-la Ville - the ruined abbey. Quite few people from TE went there.

Goedenavond Paul,

Jaren geleden nam ik bijna de zelfde foto, ook te zien op TE.
Dit zicht vraagt om een foto van te maken ik weet dit zeer goed.
De gebouwen er achter zijn niet zo oud maar in een mooi style heropgebouwd na de eerste wereld oorlog.
Twee goede foto Paul, bedankt.

Hello Paul, I like this rather dramatic shot where the metal wave dominates the scene and immediately attracts our attention.
The theatre is a beautiful building and makes a fine background for the artwork.

Ha! Ha! A good decision not to wet your feet especially as this is a really attractive shot as it is!
I really applaud you, with regard to your chosen viewpoint.
This close-up of the curving, metallic wave is truly eye-catching and becomes a fluid work of art in its own right. The b/g building fits neatly into the curve and, along with the bright blue sky, becomes the third part of the composition.
It was interesting to see it completely, in the w/s, but I prefer it so artistically used here.

Hi Paul,
Great composition with the nice curvy shapes of the fountain and the stylish architecture behind. The workshops show more postcard style scene for people like myself. Very creative view, I like reading your note when you explain why things are included they way they are. This is the best way to learn from other photographers I think.

Sensational POV with which you have captured this work of art in metal, with that curious shape that recalls the shape of the waves, formidable the brick building that we can in the background, with so many turrets and gables.
Ideal the view of the whole of the theater and the other building in the WS.
