Hello 2021, good riddance to 2020!
I've been a bit quiet here lately, mainly because TE for me is all about travelling and...well, you know what happened. Let's hope we get to travel again in 2021. We've got countless plans and ideas. You'll see me posting more regularly then!

THE BELGIAN SEASIDE has been our escape in holidays when we couldn't really travel. It's not too bad, things could have been worse, but it's not really travelling for us, is it?
DE PANNE isn't far from France, so you get more French-speaking visitors here than elsewhere along the coast. Apart from that, itis a typical Belgian seaside town with lots of high rise along the coast, a walking boulevard at the front and rather wide stretch of sandy beach.
THIS PICTURE shows a typical scene at the Belgian coast. In summers, on weekends and holidays it's usually pretty crowded. This scene was shot during the weekend between christmas and new year, so plenty of walkers about. No big groups, though, as walking outside is only permitted in groups of maximum four people.

TE is not necessarily about travelling around the world. Good photos can be found close to home, as this one proves. These clouds are no less impressive than any found in Vietnam or Mali, and even though we are watching an ordinary Belgian beach, the sand looks just as fine as anywhere in Thailand.

Goedenavond Benny,
Uitgerust aan de zee, met stevige wandelingen langs de vloedlijn, waar je maximum jodium kan opdoen.
Het verwonderd mij dat de corona regels hier blijkbaar goed gevolg worden.
Ik hoop als iedereen dat dat beest uit ons leven verdwijnt.
Zodat er door iedereen kan gereisd waar men wil
Uw panorama beeld met zee, schaduwen en wolken aan de hemel zorgt voor een rustig beeld.

Hi Benny,
Those clouds look great and there's even some sunshine! The beach is quite spacious and no doubt offers a good getaway in Covid times. No intense sunshine like in summertime, but at least your days are longer than here in the North.

Travel or not, it's always nice to see a post from you. :-) Happy New Year to you and your family, I really truly hope all of us are able to resume our travels in 2021.
Lovely landscape photo. I suppose the contrast between the sunshine at the top of the image and the shade at the bottom could be read as a metaphor for us emerging from the shadows of the "Covid reality" into the light of the "new normal". It's good to see that you are at least able to enjoy the outdoors. In Poland, for the first couple of months of the first lockdown, parks were closed and people got fined for entering forests.

Hello Benny, Happy New Year.
That bank of clouds looks extremely heavy and really dominates the scene. It's lovely the way that the sun has illuminated the upper clouds. And we can see a band of sunshine on the beach.
The people are obeying the rules, dotted across the beach. It looks like quite a cold day, everyone seems to be wearing their thick coats.

Hi Benny,without new trips the site actually loses a bit of interest, but there are also many nice things to show close to home. This photo is an example, and then I love the beaches. This is too crowded for the period and for the restrictions ... hehe ... fantastic clouds that complete the composition in the best way. Happy New Year and thanks,Luciano

Hallo Benny,
In de jaren '80 heb ik enkele keren vrienden aan zee bezocht. Toen was het nog niet zo druk als nu en had je een eindeloos strand voor je alleen.
Op deze foto vind ik het eigenlijk al te druk :) Zeker voor de winter. Het was natuurlijk eindejaarsvakantie.
De foto heeft wel een heel mooie compositie en het wolkendek maakt veel van zijn schoonheid uit.

Hello Benny, Is it good bye TE? I hope not. Covid time is difficult to travelloers but also even more difficult, tragic for all connected with the tourist industry. Will it be better with the new vaccines? All hope for it.
