Lights and colours of Wien II., a photo from Vienna, East

Photographer's Note

Another shot from the Wien-travelogue. It was the Long Night of Museums in Wien and there were colourful lights and flags in front of the museums advertising the event. That blue light comes from an advertising lorry that I found better to cut out. *No border or frame this time! :)

Hofburg Imperial Palace is a palace in Vienna, Austria, which has housed some of the most powerful people in Austrian history, including the Habsburg dynasty, rulers of the Austro-Hungarian empire. It currently serves as the official residence of the President of Austria. It was also known as the winter residence, while Schφnbrunn Palace was the preferred summer residence.
The Hofburg area has been the documented seat of government since 1279 for various empires and republics.
The Hofburg has been expanded over the centuries to include:
various residences (with the Amalienburg);
chapels (Hofkapelle, Hofmusikkapelle, Burgkapelle);
museums (the Naturhistorisches Museum & Kunsthistorisches Museum);
-the Imperial Library (Hofbibliothek now the Prunksaal);
-the treasury (Schatzkammer);
-the national theatre (Burgtheater);
-the riding school (Hofreitschule);
-the horse stables (the Stallburg and Hofstallungen).
The Hofburg faces the Heldenplatz ordered under the reign of Emperor Francis Joseph, as part of what was to become a Kaiserforum that was never completed.
Numerous architects have executed work at the Hofburg as it expanded, notably the Italian architect-engineer Filiberto Luchese (the Leopoldischiner Trakt), Lodovico Burnacini and Martino and Domenico Carlone, the Baroque architects Lukas von Hildebrandt and Joseph Emanuel Fischer von Erlach (the Reichschancelry Wing and the Winter Riding School), Johann Fischer von Erlach (the library), and the architects of the grandiose Neue Burg built between 1881 and 1913.

Szerintem remekόl sikerόlt kιp, csak gratulαlni lehet hozzα, pedig nem egyszerű az ilyen ezerszer fιnykιpezett tιmαkrσl valami eredetit adni. Szokatlan a nagy fekete előtιr, ami jσl ellensϊlyozza a szintιn fekete ιgboltot, ιs erősνti a horizontαlis szerkesztιst - vιgeredmιnyben vνzszintes sαvokbσl αll φssze a kιp. Nagyon hatαsos az ιjszakai kιpeknιl megszokott vφrφs-sαrga szνneket kiegιszνtő kιk ιs zφld fιny az elmosσdσ alakokkal. A jσ Savoyai Jenő alakja is nagyon plasztikusan ugrat el a palotαtσl - ami egyιbkιnt a tφrtιnelmi paradoxon szιp pιldαja, hiszen mire a birodalom nagysαgαt demonstrαlni hivatott palota felιpόlt, a birodalom lιnyegιben megszűnt.
A kιphez viszont, mint fentebb, csak gratulαlni tudok.

hi marci... the light management on the "Lights and colours of Wien I." was so much better than this one, ihave to say... the OE streetlamp is a bit too harsh... but i like the walking ghosts, and the blue part on the bottom right...

Hi Marton, Wonderful colours from the various lights, the architecture is amazing & beautifully lit highlighting some great detail, I like the couple stood between the blue & green split, also the ghost like figures through- out the shot, well composed &, TFS, kind regards Wilson.

Nagyon szιp kιpet alkottαl, kόlφnφsen tetszik a sαrgαs ιs kιkes szνnek ellentιte ιs az ahogy az elmosσdott jαrσkelők ιletet visznek a kιpbe. A kιp aljαn az αrnyιk nekem annyira nem tetszik, de ez legyen az ιn bajom, attσl mιg nagyon jσ fotσ. Sajnos mιg csak αtutazσban jαrtam Bιcsben, de egyszer (idιn?) talαn eljutok ide is.

Orulok, hogy ismet bovult a galeriad egy szep szines ejszakai fotoval. Erdekesen felepitett kep; tetszenek ezek a szinsavok, de azert leginkabb a meleghatast kelto sarga-arany, ami meg jobban kiemeli ennek a gyonyoru epuletnek a formajat es reszleteit.
Szep napot kivanok es jo tanulast!

Hey!

What a beautiful building and the lights are wonderful!! :) There's just one thing bothering me and that's the foreground.. I don't really like the black of the road and the people there. I think it would have been nicer without all that. Just my opinion! :)

szνnpompαs v. inkαbb pszichedelikus, kifejezetten lαtvαnyos esti kιp, ahol az előtιr az emberekkel ιs a szellemekkel igencsak ιrdekessι ιs lαtvαnyossα teszi az egιszet. Ιppen meg akartam kιrdezni, hogy miιrt nincs keret, de szerencsιre elolvastam az egyik vαlaszodat ιs megιrtettem szαndιkodat a fekete csνkokkal kapcsolatosan. A vιlemιnyem az, hogy a dolog akkor műkφdik jobban amikor a kιp formαtuma nem kocka, hanem keskenyebb ιs ezιrt az aljαbσl, a kιk sαvig levαgtam volna a fekete rιszt (νgy is maradt volna a feketιből mert a sαv balra felfele νvel. A felső rιszből is levαgtam volna annyit (vagyis kb. 6mm-t)amennyit csak lehetett volna. A mαsik lehetősιg, amit valszeg vαlasztottam volna az az, hogy az egιszet az imιnti vagdosαsok utαn, egy egyszerű ιs elegαns fekete keretbe zαrtam volna. Csupαn azιrt mert, a kιp mostani αllapotαban a nιzőnek hiαnyιrzete lehet az impozαns ιpόlet, hiαnyzσ kιt oldala νrαnt. A kerettel ezt a hiαnyιrzetet szerintem tφkιletesen lehet enyhνteni, mert kφrόlvonalazza a kιpet sugallvαn, hogy ez ennyiről szσl ιs nincs tovαbb... Remιlem elιg vilαgosan fejeztem ki gondolataimat (:D. A kιp minősιgιvel ιs kompozνciσjαval abszolϊt semmi problιma, sőt!!! Gratulαlok ιs szιp estιt kνvαnok!

Itt is szιpek a szνnek, kόlφnφsen tetszik az elmosσdαs az ϊt mentιn azzal a neonfιnnyel. Jσ φtlet volt a hosszabb zαridő, bαr a fσkusz inkαbb a jαrdαn van, mintsem az ιpόleten, talαn egy kicsit zajos is lett emiatt. Ιrdekes szemszφgből mutattad meg az ιpόletet.:)

I really missed this one, sorry :(
I like the way you mastered in "black hour" photography. Exposure is great, and the layers of black-blue-green-orange-yellow-black look really attractive like a candy, even in the thumbnail form. The sharpness of the standing figures prove the high quality of your score. And the last but not the least, i congratulate you upon capturing the ghosts of Hofburg. Do you think that Sisi's ghost is amongst them? ;)

superb night shot! The architecture is a pleasant seen in its warn tones. Not like Elanor, I like the inclusion of the people and the cool light in bottom. Very good details and clarity. Well done!
