Photographer's Note
Back to T&T today, this time to Port of Spain and Fort George, located on a ridge over 1,000 feet above the capital. Built by the British in 1804 as part of a complex of fortifications that protected the island, Fort George was the major defensive position monitoring all approaches to the capital and especially protecting the harbour.
Although it was considered impregnable in its day, Fort George never experienced military action. However, when attacks by other hostile colonial powers were rumoured, the merchants of Port of Spain would store their records, cash and valuables in the safe inside the fort. The fort ceased to be a military establishment in 1846 and was converted to a signal station in 1902. The Victorian Signal House continued to operate until 1964 and now houses a mini-museum.

Hey Mary,
That`s so typically Caribbean. :) In any case, a nice balanced photo, with a good deal of elements in it. All in all neatly composed, bright, with good colors and contrasts.
I`d like to visit the region someday soon, and I`m seriously thinking about it as my next destination, we shall see.
Best regards.

Hello Mary,
These old guns are not frightening any more, but rather attractive. I like contrast between their heavy and massive forms and the brittleness of the wood house. The colors are put forward by the dark sky. The skilful and balanced composition is very pleasant to look at. An excellent realization. Congratulations.
Have a nice day

HI MAry,
That's a nice colonial building to which the cannons add a good foreground, given the stormy conditions it is well exposed, possibly an angle from the right side of your picture would have been better to detach the elements that are slightly overlapping here.
Have a nice day jY

Hello Mary,
The composition is well balanced. The brilliant green of the canons offers a dramatic highlight to the shot. Your note, meanwhile, complements the excellent TE-package.

Ciao Mary,
bella composizione su cui primeggia la presenza dei due cannoni.
I proprietari di questa casa li usano per proteggersi dai ladri? Ahahahah!
Have a nice day!
Francesco
