Independence Square is the central park of Basseterre, the tiny capital of St. Kitts and Nevis. St. Kitts and Nevis achieved independence in 1983. It is the smallest sovereign state in the Americas, in both area and population.
On a hot weather shadow is always preferred place to have a break.

Hi Kari,
Not the most picturesque shot,, but that is perfectly okay. Not all photos has to be of spectacular landscape, it is after all TE. The photo quality is undisputable good. What I like here, it shows the daily life of the local residents, relaxing un the huge tree, which serve as a giant umbrella to keep cool, which is essential for it must be very hot and humid in the area.
