‘Arrival in Granada’
The two most beautiful and also the two most visited cities in Nicaragua, Leσn and Granada do have an namesake in Spain. Granada, founded in 1524, got its name in honour of the defeat of the last Moorish stronghold on the Iberian peninsula.
In Central America it became the sister capital of Antigua, Guatemala.
Granada, located on Lake Nicaragua is also very close to the capital and the international airport. This is the place that receives the most foreign tourists throughout the country. It’s a particularly beautiful city where it’s pleasant to stay. Yet I personally have a small preference for Leσn where tourism did not yet show any excesses. In Granada, you could see that some were a bit spoiled. Yet this was nothing compared to many other places in the world. Moreover, you can take countless beautiful pictures.
I don’t know if it was wise to keep a tourist place until the end of my trip. Maybe I had visited this city better in the beginning. But I definitely wanted to be in Leσn during the Semana Santa and that was in the beginning of my journey.
Maybe I'm a little overly negative about Granada. I definitely recommend this city for a visit once the political situation improves in the country.

Hello Paul,
These photos don't reveal whether Granada has become a victim of mass tourism, but maybe "Kathy's Waffle House" gives us an indication. Whenever I have found banana pancakes in Asia I knew that the Americans had arrived. This looks very nice and fairly untouched, although I guess the school buses originally came from the USA. Low buildings in bright colours and brick roofs, nice domes of the church and a beautiful hilly background. Very nice and bright WS photos too.
Kind regards,
Gert

Dag Paul,

Knap!

Hi, Charming pictur4e. These domes are really beautiul. And you were lucky to be in Nicaragua before the unrest in Nicaragua.
I am in Senegal with the organized trip. I saw quite a cheap excursion with the same agency as in Serbia. It is the part in Senegal in the less visited places that it wouldn't possible (or difficult) to go alone. So I decided quickly to join. It is so different to the places I have visited so far.

Dag Paul,

Saluti

Hello Paul,
The yellow school busses look like they might have come from 1950's USA. Good sharpness and I like the repetition of the red domed yellow churches. I've only been to the other Granada in Spain. Tfs!

Hi Paul
why does this remind me of Cuba? it seriously looks like small towns in Cuba. the buildings in the bg look very new or at least old but newly renovated. We can't see it, but the steps on the left....do they lead up to a chuch? Why do I get the feeling it does. and I really like the WS#1 photo. Interesting to read your note and Gert's note. Maybe a bit touristy, but still worth a visit, but not too long i guess. thanks for this one, it got me thinking about similar places to visit and places i have visited in the past. cheers

Hello Paul.
A city that seems to be one of the main ones of the country, here we see a beautiful image, with that series of colonial style houses with those old roofs and behind some pretty towers, very curious these buses for the schoolboys.
A magnificent color, which gives the image a lot of chromatic richness.
Very good management of lighting and sharpness.
Well done. I like it.
You have a good day.
Very best regards.
Luis.

Hello Paul,
This is a beautiful view of several Granada icons: the school buses, traditional roofs, and the colorful church tower. There's a little of everything. It's all very picturesque, especially with the hills and low clouds in the background.

Hello Paul,
I must confess, it was the presence of two yellow school buses that attracted me to this fine photo. I am surprised the Granadan drivers did not decorate their buses as wildly as some others in South America do.
