"Somersault" is one of those English words that has a French origin and is no longer used in French (obsolete French word sombresault, Provencal sobresaut, and Latin - supra, over, and saltus, jump). The terms currently used in French are "saut pιrilleux" or "salto" (a short form from Italian "salto mortale").

I’m afraid you won’t learn much about the world from this photo. Personally I like it simply because it’s a type of photo that I very rarely take and I find the result rather pleasing. The context: Quiet Sunday morning at the wharf at the end of the beach in Negril. Bells are ringing, a few people are fishing, a boy dives from the wharf, over and over. I take a few shots with the beach as background, a couple more with the greenish blue sea as background.
