Photographer's Note
Plumed basilisk also called commonly the green basilisk is the largest basilisk species. Including the tail, it can reach 3 feet in total length. In fact the tail did not fit within the frame, as I had tele lens on the camera. Males have three crests: one on the head, one on the back, and one on the tail. So this one is male.
Basilisk is able to run short distances across water using both its feet and tail for support. In Costa Rica, this has earned the plumed basilisk the nickname Jesus Christ lizard.

Hello Kari,
I guess I have some reputation of wanting to include people in my photos, but I would really also have liked to take a picture like this. Any kind of life will do just as well, and this is a marvellous living creature. Considering its colour and pattern it should be able to hide very well in the forest, so you were really lucky to find it exposed like this, and staying long enough for a good photo.
Best regards,
Gert

Hello Kari,
What a beautiful creature with wonderful colours, both his green body and the light blue dots. The shapes of this head and tail are also beautiful. Very well captured with good sharpness.

Hi Kari.
Excellent capture, was it taken in the wilderness or in a protected area? This lizard could easily compete with James Bond 007 when it comes in water action since it can run on the surface, haha. A nice presentation, TFS!!!

hello Kari,
What a strange creature!
It looks like a relic from the dinosaur age, with tiny leds, all over its body.
It's a fine capture, sharp against a pleasing oof background.
My warm regards,
Bev :-)
