Photographer's Note
I snapped this photo of a Vietnamese lady working the rice fields while cycling near the town of Hoi An. I used a 100-300mm zoom lens to shoot the image as the road was a fair distance from the worker. Seeing that I couldn't get a closer shot of the person, I decided to compose the image in this manner. I hope you like it.

Hi Spiros,
A classical and wonderful composition isolating the working women. I like the colours and the water in transparency of the green. Well done,
Christophe

Superb image Spiros, wonderful composition with the person in the upper right corner. The vertical framing gives it depth and the horizontal lines are counter balancing the subject and stabilize the whole picture. Another great piece from you, I can't wait for the next one.

Hello Spiros. I think the way you have composed the picture is excellent, much better than a close portrait of the worker. We can therefore imagine the immensity of the field and also the quantity of work involved. The black lines separating the fields add also to the structure of the picture. Good work. Pascal

Hi Sipros,
very well composed picture, I like this vertical compo with the dark horizontal lines , good graphical impact.
The lady has a good posture and she contrasts well with the green.
Well done

Hola Spiros:

Hello Spiros
That a very well composed picture!!!
The contrats of the dark and clear diagonals created by the water and shadows gives a very graphical effect.
Very well done!
Thanks

Hi Spiros,
I really love this photo; it is darn near exactly the type of photo I've tried(but failed) to take so many times during my travels to that great country. The only problem i see is the lack of sharpness in the forground on the nearest paddy, closing a few more stops to about 10 or 11 might have helped -- but of course thats a minor quible :)
great job,
steve

Hi Spiros. You have some fine shots from Vietnam in your gallery, especially this one. I would say your choice of lens was very appropriate, and the composition is really effective, emphasising that the landscape surrounging the subject is rice, rice and more rice. Very simple, but the lines and placement of the subject give a strong sense of depth to this one. A really excellent shot.

Andrew

An attractive composition with motif from rice fields!

A very very good shot, Spiros!
The long focal length, the pattern across the grass, the location of the lady, and the use of open aperture lead to a very effective shot!
Very good job!

Hi Spiros - very efficient approach, nicely cutting a pretty slice of green with wonderful lines and water, with the farmer standing out up there in the corner, in a very interesting posture, and obviously the hat makes it. Congratulations and regards, Daniel

Hi Spiros - not easy with such a long zoom lens, and without tripod, still the result is fine, the composition manner is right on, I would have preferred the bottom part also in focus, but don't know how this would be possible with the zoom
