Excellent photo showing daily life in Vietnam. Clear and sharp subject,with the background nicely blurred to concentrate on the child and buffalo.This was one aspect of daily life that really intrigued me when we were in Vietnam. We saw one child fast asleep spread-eagled on the buffalo's back. Cattle in UK would not allow that.

Hello!
This is great shot, beautiful moment and everything - I think everything good was already told.
But I must admit that one can easily "feel" the fact of using long lenses, this shot in spite of all obvious merits hardly brings emotions in me - for example your shot "Harvest time" (photo205398.htm) - although slightly worse technically - is much more powerfull - I think it comes from the shorter distance between you and your subject

This is the first photograph where you self-determine the concept by our friend Cesar whom I respect:

'It takes a heart to take good pictures.
You got to have heart, eye and camera aligned to do it.

It is not how you handle shutter speed, ISO settings, aperture...it is the way you feel and how able you are to seize the moment without even thinking.

If you depend on PP to "get" or "create" a masterpiece, you are an artist! If you do not, you are a "photographer"'.

my Sunday's strolling around and your most unexpected invitation made me possible to rediscover in a most pleasant experience today seeing your gallery, I spot this one out for my sensibility for action-shots that you show here so clear frozen in a most sober setting of all the greens taking us straight to this country-side feeling, a good DOF to spot this boy and buffalo very nicely sharp out, one of the so many beautifull shots you got thinking at your portraits too !

hello tuan,
i have had the experience at tending water buffalos (carabaos, we call them) and cattles myself. i chose to go to school and moved up. and i do miss the joys (and pains) of such routine that played a key role to where i am now. thanks for bringing back fond memories of my childhood years.
a candid foto, vivid, clear and well lit.
