Photographer's Note

These urns cast in 1835 are dedicated to the Nguyen sovereigns who ruled Vietnam until 1945. Each urn is about 2m high and weight 2000kg. They stand in the yard in front of the Hien Lam Pavillion, seen in the back, part of the Imperial Enclosure in the Hue Citadelle.

December is usually rainy in central Vietnam but is still a good time to visit since tourists are very few.
