Photographer's Note
This was a shot in late afternoon of ordinary 'street people' in a village in Muang Hoa Valley around Sapa, Lao Cai province 330km northwest of Hanoi near the Chinese border at an elevation of 1500m, and home to the Red Dzao, one of the largest ethnic minority groups around this valley.
These are the Red Dzao, waiting for local transport with their famous identity, the distinctive eye-catching bulky fiery red head-dresses which supposedly determine how rich they are depending on size with shaved eyebrows and foreheads. The red colors are almost omnipresent here and a true delight for the eyes.
A quick grab using 300 mm lens, focused on the left fig and the lighting was slightly overcast on a cool weather.

Salam Abmdsudi.Large or small minorities, long may they exist in the seas of the 'majority' since they bring, to a world increasingly homogenized, their own colour and beauty.Once upon a time it was fashionable in parts of Europe and Japan to shave the eyebrows. Looks good in my opinion. Brilliant shot and to have these two young ladies in opposite relation to the camera is a treat. Did you alter the background or is this a wall of some sort?There is something odd about the fuzzy way the elbow of the girl on the right overlaps the cheek of the one on the right. but who cares when the overall result is stunning. I like the full white background, it is underlining and increasing the perception of the red color. It is like to see a studio shot.

La 300mm donne un trθs beau rιsultat et isole trθs bien les deux sujets. La faible profondeur de champs les isole aussi de leur environnement . L'arriθre plan tout blanc est superbe.

you captured a very intense gaze and a captivatingly mysterious expression in this portrait, shot from a distance. The blank backdrop and the absence of any other context make the impact of the portrait even stronger. With these bright head-dresses and the white background this is a photo that really stands out among the crowd. Although a "quick grab" with a 300 mm lens, the woman to the left still had time to notice you. Luckily she didn't bother to turn her head away. It's a beautiful and also very informative shot. Is the white background natural, or is this the result of clever PP?

You're capturing well this portrait by a good angle of the front and the rear, so it's interesting and impressive to see bulky fiery red head-dresses and its decoration ethnic minority groups in Vietnam. in most cases the completely white backdrop would distract out attention and annoy us,but here it works perfectly with these red dresses as it helps to enhance its vivid and colorful character.

This is a good capture using the long end of the zoom...focus is well achieved and the red is strong and hits the eye. The white BG actually accentuates the effect of red...its an interesting shot and a note which provides good information as well!
