Unfortunately during the Vietnam War the Đại Nội Citadel in Hue did suffer considerable bomb and napalm damage. Large parts have had some restoration but other parts have had none.
This photo shows an area with ruined walls and collapsing buildings on the edge of the citadel.

Pozdrav, dragom komisji sa fotografijom na TE.
Lep pogled, dobar tekst ...
Lepo emsto sa zelenim drvecem i starim gradjevinama, dobro pokazano sa lepim bojama, kontrastom, perspeketivom i uhvacenim trenutkom sa sivim oblacima koji donose kiosu.
Dobar rad, lepa fotografija.
Zelim vam sve najbolje.
Paja.

Hello Ian,
The tropical vegetation almost hides the squalor of the damaged buildings, that seem to be beyond repair. They look quite different from the abandoned buildings we are often shown in Serbia or Poland.
Best regards,
Gert

Hi Ian,
The trees and the vegetation are framing well the buildings. The point of view is showing the details of the old buildings. The light is giving good colors output. Have a nice day.

Hello Ian,
Always good to see that nature takes over when you leave something and makes her own beauty,

Hello Ian, I like that nature took power over the ruins. But the objects here seems not especially interesting. Abundant greenery.

Hello Ian,
I know only Vietnam of the WAR against France and America
Everything so rural that I can feeling the totally quiet.
Almost not to believe after all this war violence
An excellent panorama view too.
Very well done, TFS.
Have a nice weekend,
John.

Hello Ian,
My first idea was that this was a very nice photo with nature regaining ground.
However, the underlying reason for the decline is a terrible one.
Good to show us a different view of Hue as well.
Best regards, Paul

Hi Ian,a very bad page of local history, and here we can see still what remains after the bombs, abandoned and damnaged houses, a memory of these terrific days, useful post well done as usual. Have a nice Sunday and thanks,Luciano

Hi Ian
I like your viewpoint which adds the 'feel' to the ruins, and still a pleasing record shot of the day
Best regards

Hi Ian
Sadly this is the section of Hue I remember the most. No doubt the occasional typhoon has worsened the severe napalm fire damage over the years. The lush tropical landscape is slowly reverting to forest. Tfs!

I presume the roofs are to prevent more damage to the structures.nice informative image showing as the war can destroy lives and arts.

Hello Ian,
It is a shame this place has turned into ruins. I hope they can raise enough money to restore these.
Regards,
MT
