Photographer's Note
Please open both photos in new tabs for the better versions.
Hue's Đại Nội Citadel has many Chinese influences, in fact it was designed to be a scaled down version of Beijing's Imperial Palace.
Today's 2 photos (go to the WS for the second one) show some of the detail of buildings in the citadel with their mixture of Chinese and Vietnamese elements.

Hi Ian,
Well photographed and framed these details of the roof, nice sculptures, well presented even the condition of weather wasn't ideal to take photo, good rendering for colors, good WS too, tfs.

Hello Ian,
Both photos are well composed and show us amazing details of the roofs. They both reveal that a cloudy sky is not necessarily a drawback for the colours and clarity of a photo.
Best regards,
Gert

Hello Ian,
An excellent close-up of the roof and the many sculptures on top of it. They stand out well from the cloudy sky and also the orange tones of the roof make a good contrast.

Hello Ian,
Lovely, close-up details of the roof, which reveal the shiny, orange coloured bamboo pieces, snuggly linked, yet looking very elegant in their triangular sections. We can see how the bamboo is separated by stylised, mosaic dragons. It is amazing, so very Chinese in style.
My warm regards,
Bev 😊

Hello Ian,
Chinese architecture has had a major influence on the architectural style of Vietnam.
You show us here two excellent examples of masterful decoration of roofs (and of a wall in the WS).
Wonderful roof tiles in your main photo and their ends decorated in detail.
Two equally good photos.
Best regards, Paul

Hi Ian
A typically Chinese architecture, the detail of the bursting colour of the roof tiles and decor just appealed to lift the gray day!
Best regards

yes, we can notice this palace and the chinese ones have the same aspects, not exactly similar, here bamboos and dragons are more evident. TFS.

Hi Ian,
A good close up on the roof showing the protective dragons, presumably to ward off evil spirits. Good warm cold colour contrasts and sharpness. Tfs!

Hi Ian,
It's good to see close-ups of such buildings so we can appreciate the work and artistry that went into them. The large version of the main photo shows a bit of noise when we zoom in, but we need to zoom in to see all the magnificent detail of the carving, mosaics and painting.

Hello Ian,
Those details are quite intricate. Look at those tongues, I am surprised they have not broken off yet.
