Photographer's Note

On my way to the old battlefield at Khe Sanh in April 1995 I stopped briefly in the town of Dong Ha, a short distance south of the old border between South and North Vietnam, very close to what used to be a Demilitarised Zone (DMZ) during the war.

I took this photo just a few minutes after my last upload, "Sleeping on the job". This man leaning on a an old cannon, a leftover from the war, was not posing for me. He had been standing like that for a while and didn't move an inch when I approached him, just gave me a smile. In a workshop you can see a picture from a few moments earlier.

Both photos were scanned from Kodachrome slides.
