Picture of Tilya Kori Madrasah in Samarkand, taken during our tour in Sept,10.
The highlight of the Tilya-Kori Madrasah is its mosque, intricately decorated with gold to symbolize Samarkand`s wealth at the time it was built.
It was not only the place of training students, but also it played the role of grand mosque. It has two-storied main facade, vast courtyard fringed by dormitory cells with four galleries along axes. Mosque building is situated in the western section of the courtyard. The main hall of the mosque is abundantly gilded.

One of the countries I would like to visit.
We've read so much about Samarkand from history books. Wonderful details on the tiles of the madrasah. I wish you had sharpened a bit...a WS done, if you don't mind!

I`m missing some sharpness here,but it`s a fine shot of this wonderful architecture.
Uzbekistan is very high on my list of places I want to visit.

Beautiful Ragestan Square unknown to the outside world, a colorful shot and nicely crop with tremendous detail in vivid colors to draw the eye. Though I feel the exposure treatment is done correctly under harsh light condition, early morning and late afternoon will produce a better pleasing image without hard shadows. Nevertheless it's a nice shot. Congrats
