Photographer's Note
Just by the side of the river was a dead tree trunk where the villagers spent much of their time..well, at least during the day that we were there. These young boys just finished bathing. The overcast day and the subtle rays of the sun transformed them into "gold". They were a treasure to look at...treasured models to me.
The older guy at the background and their different attention...any take on these?

Nice shot Manny. Beautiful colors and a very nice use of limited DOF. For my tastes, I wish the older guy wasn't there, but not much you could do about that.

Great use of the shallow depth of field to make the line of boys go out of focus into the distance. Great shapness and colours as usual.
You ask about the older guy and I think the picture would also work well if he was cropped away. Nice shot.

the older guy makes a V in the compo that gives some dynamic to the shot IMO... i love your "golden boys" title,, quite a change from the NYC golden boys, huh??lol for once your photo does not seem that sharp in focus.. glad to see that i am not the only one;-)) lol

hello Manuel
verry nice composition
i like the diagonal ligne with
the head
i have no problem with the old guy in background
because the last kids seems listening him
this contribut maybe to a story in this picture
and make this picture not just a portrait
but a daily life shot
well done

I like the way the two nearest boys are looking at you and are in focus, and the two farthest away are distraced and out of focus. Knowing your photos this was the intention.

Hi Manuel, this picture is wonderful, the two first children are very sharp, and the rest blur, but splendid image! Well seen!

A very interesting way of using shallow dof here, Manuel. It could work nice also with only the three boys on the left, maybe even better, see my WS, but your composition is good and special.

Nice golden tones in the boys' skin indeed, Manny. I was thinking for a while and I think the good thing about having the old guy in the shot is that he really completes what is a shot that is very well readable from left to right, with the DOF gradually getting shallower, and also the attention span of the boys turning from you to the other guy. Great colors and light, very pretty.

Manny, you decide if it's good or not, but now when i can recognize a pix of yours before i see your name. You sure like these burnished tones!!!
The guy in the background does not bother me, he is not obtrusive and the way the kids heads are positionned, he also becomes logically a part of the pix.
Great purpose of expression on the second kid's face. It's his pix!

Great shot Manny!
I like the candid expressions on the boys faces.
Great depth of field. Great color saturation on their well tanned (golden) skin.
Cheers!

Wonderful 'sun-enriched' colours in the foreground, with good DOF, and a beautiful green background. Well seen and captured, Manuel.

Not only you are good at getting expression and beauty from your femme fatales, but also the down to earth daily expression of native boys in its elements.

I find this one to be even more effective than your previous posting. Here, the sharp focus gets softer and softer as it goes back, and gives the impression of deliberate focus, with hints at the world outside the photo. A very nice image!

very beautiful scene, children on line as at the school. they all are very nice, one by the glance, the other with its hand in its mouth... I like much this photograph.

Great color in this composition. I've always loved the diagonal lining up of people in a picture and this is the perfect example of such done well.
