Photographer's Note
Back to my Bangkok street vendors series... Here in Chinatown small lanes, many smal stalls offer lots of different foods... here some pork balls, The notice says 'Ka' (the name of the seller) "grilled pork balls" "savory dipping sauce" underlined in red "You serve it yourself" i.e. as much as you like. "10 baht a stick" telephone "o6-"

Hi Laurent, i think because the girl is consentrating on what she is cooking this adds to the photo, great colouring & lighting, very sharp, kind regards Wilson.

bonjour laurent

hi laurent
Interesting daily life shot where I in particular like how you split the photo in the two sections - girl and her fish display.

Bonsoir, mon ami Laurent,
Amitiιs.

Greetings Laurent
One interesting thing about the cultural exchange that takes place here, is, for me, that people can make pictures from things we see every day and never think to photograph. I cross Yaowarat twice a day, and they even sell these things outside my flat. But seeing is seeing, and you have seen a nice picture here. The composition is a bit grid-like to be very exciting; too many horizontals, perpendiculars and too straight on. This tends to rob the scene of movement and drama. I love the pattern of the meat balls and the notice is nice context. It is all beautifully sharp. I would have wished to see the vendor, (Khun Ka's) eyes and the detail in the background is a bit distracting (a little of that mystical Bokeh would have helped) As for the notice- now I have to be a bloody know-it-all( well sorry! But it took me a long time to learn Thai!). They are not fish balls at all. The Notice says 'Ka' (the name of the seller "grilled pork balls" "savory dipping sauce" underlined in red "You serve it yourself" i.e. as much as you like. "10 baht a stick" telephone "o6-"
I enjoyed looking at your picture I will cross Yaowarat with refreshed eyes, in future, and I await your next picture. Regards Kevin

Hi Laurent,
Again a very lovely picture out of the series street vendors, great sharpness and clarity, a pity for the eyes of the young lady, we can not see the eyes! Maybe I should crop to righthand the face of the young lady, but I like your picture!
Have a nice day,
John.

Salut Laurent. Interesting photo of this meatball seller. The half-and-half framing between the woman working at the grill, and the display at the right with the sign above works quite well and is all that is needed to convey the location and the setting. Perhaps the shop details in the back draw a bit too much attention, but there is not much you can do about that. Good depiction of Bangkok daily life.

Bien cordialement,
Emmanuel

A well composed photograph of this street vendor and her stall Laurent, I just wish she didn't have her eyes closed.
Other than that, good work, although I think it would have been better with the background a bit more out of focus.
Cheers,
Ben

Salut Laurent,

Ciao Laurent!
Interesting street scene! I miss Thai good food.
Strange to see a Thai girl not smiling, she looks very careful in her job.
I like the grd of horizontal an vertical lines, also the lady... seems captured and close in the grid!
Well done, ciao!

Bien typique, bien inattendu...
