Photographer's Note
Hello TE-friends,
after a long time I thought is would be wonderful to present you a shot from Thailand.
This is one of the most impressive temples I have ever seen. Real artwork, you can walk there for hours and will always find something new to look at.
This is Wat Rong Khun (Thai: วัดร่องขุ่น), a contemporary unconventional buddhist temple in Chiang Rai, Thailand.
It was designed by Chalermchai Kositpipat. Construction began in 1997.
Normaly the temples in Thailand are golden and full of colours, not so this one.
It is designed only in white color with some use of white glass.
The white color stands for Lord Buddha’s purity; the white glass stands for Lord Buddha’s wisdom that "shines brightly all over the Earth and the Universe."
I hope you like this one,
thanks for looking and any words.
Enjoy your day
Sabine

Hi Wishnu
The coldest it's ever been in Bangkok when I was there was 16c. It felt strange wearing an overcoat there. Good sharpness & reflections with well managed exposure on the glittering highlights. Tfs!

Hallo Sabine!

Hello Sabine,
This is an impressive piece of architecture that is different from many other temples in the sense it is all white!
The point of view works well and results in a lovely reflection in the pond, sharp fine details...
Greetings,

Hi Wishnu!
I've never been to Chiang Rai but I can imagine it's worth a visit. This white temple is amazing. You got a good pov, good colours, sharpness and a wonderful reflection!

Hi Sabine. I see that you have been to lovely Chiang Rai. You have captured Khun Churlemchai's eccentric creation beautifully. You have framed and exposed it just perfectly and, by luck you had the perfect sky too. I like your use of the reflection, which enhances the impact and gives some lovely rich, darker tones. Cherlumchai is a painter , of course, and to me he approaches architecture as though it were a painting, giving an impression like marshmallow or meringue, rather than steel and concrete, which it is. But, like it or not, it does make lovely pictures as you have so well illustrated. Incidentally, there are other white Thai temples; the nicest, I know is the Thai temple at Lumbini in Nepal and the Thai temple in Kushinara in India. both of which I have photographed, but not uploaded. Anyway, nice to see you in action again and congratulations on this lovely image. regards kevin
