Photographer's Note
Although I have lived in Taiwan for close to two years, today was the first time I made it to Yehliu, which is not far north of Taipei. Yehliu is quite famous for the rock formations created via wind and water erosion. Although I am not a landscape photographer, it was fun having a go with this.
Converted/toned, etc in Photoshop. Handheld, ISO 200, focal length 15mm, uncropped.

I thought I hadn't seen anything like this from you, Darren. I like what you've done here. There's quite a strong contrast between the upper processed part and the lower natural half - and it works pretty well, I think. Perhaps you could have got more detail lower-left in the sky - there was nothing much there to burn probably, leaving a very strong highlight. It draws attention away from the bridge, I think.

This Taiwan, could be the MiddleEast to my eye. Quite a departure from your norm, but nice.

A fine landscape man. The comp is good, the clouds dramatic. Maybe your mid-level tones are a little flat though. A cool pic man!

That's the spirit! You see, you capture!
It should be in full size of 800 px, but from what I can see you've captured a fine moment here. Classical scene with foreground, middlepart and background. I think your lens on an analog body (15mm = 15mm) would create more space around the rocks in the foreground and also involved more of the contrasty sky...
Nice PP too!

hi Darren, i like this shot very much. the tones are great. only the clouds look a bit pixelized. to my experience ISO 100 or lower is best for clouds in BW, but not sure if the effect here is because of ISO.

I love the effect of this shot in B&W/toned. I was just at Yehliu this past year so I know what the real thing looks like. This shot evokes such a drastically different emotional tone than if you were there seeing it in color. Sorta Ansel Adams meet Salvador Dali (I think).
