Photographer's Note
Today I'm back to my Cantonese Opera series. I've previously posted a protrait of the "xiao-sheng"(the lead actor), so today I'm showing the lead actress or "hua-dan" in Chinese. The word "dan" refers to female characters in Chinese opera, and "hua" means flower which implies beautiful here, so "hua-dan" actually means "the most beautiful female character" in the show, thus of course will be the lead actress of the troupe.
I shot this while the actress was performing on stage. You might have noticed, she's the one looking into the mirror in one of my previous sepia photos. Look at the elaborated hair accessories she had, no wonder she needed so much time in front of the mirror :)

this is as good as the other one on "xiao sheng", the smiling face seems so radiant, especially from this angle of view. hope to see more of this series.

A nice profile, Lee (decided, you will be Lee from now on). even the pastel bokeh has a chinese color often seen in their operas. There is something 60's about your shot. these colors again, most likely. I think of the silly political operas in mao times, the published photos were garish, all was great, the leap forward and all that... very evocative, just because of that blue pastel. Thanks.
